Annette’s Compassionate Cottage Story

“Our parents, Roland and Shirley have been the recipients of care from Compassionate Care for numerous years.  Initially, care needed was minimal, maybe a few hours a week, but as the needs grew, Compassionate Care was right there with them.  At one point, there was an unanticipated need for short term 24-hour care. I can’t express the relief I felt hearing, “we have you covered.”

Every care giver has provided loving and competent care, as though our parents were their parents. We really think of them as extensions of our family.  As the time came for us to face the challenge of needing 24-hour care availability and leaving home, again Compassionate Care was there for Mom and Dad with the opening of their second Compassionate Cottage.  They receive personalized, dignified care in a warm homelike setting. Some of the caregivers Mom and Dad have had at home even provided some of the coverage there, so again, wonderful familiar faces. We receive frequent and timely updates from Kelly their nurse, and she does an amazing job of helping coordinate medical care, updating both us and their doctors.

I work in the geriatric field, and I assure you, the care provided is second to none. Congratulations Compassionate Care on your anniversaries and new beginnings! Thank you for being our rock.

“Kris and I wanted to drop you a note to thank you and your staff for all you do to help my mother at Compassionate Cottage.  It is hard to believe she has been there 4 years already. We cannot tell you enough how much we appreciate all the little things you and your staff do to make her stay there pleasant and comfortable.  Over seeing her medications and day to day health is a big relief for our family. We also appreciate a call when needed.

She very much enjoys the daily activities with the other residents and has developed very strong ties to them and the staff as well.  She is as happy as I have seen her over the past several years. We also appreciate the ability to “drop” in to see her when we are in town and the ease in taking her out for special occasions. Of all the things you do for her, most important to us has been the safety of the Cottage at a time when she is most vulnerable, medication management and the nutrition she is getting. (She loves the meals).  Lastly, I appreciate the ability to schedule a “Care Conference” with the Nurse to discuss changes and needs for Mom.

Thanks for all you do to make my Mother feel like she is home. We love the fact she feels so comfortable there.”
